10 players continually linked with Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window
Eddie Howe will be looking to improve his squad again in the summer transfer window after injuries scuppered Newcastle's season
Newcastle United are heading into the final stretch of the Premier League season.
For more reasons than one, Eddie Howe will be glad to see the back of this campaign and start afresh next season. The Magpies have suffered countless injuries this year which has affected their performance in the top flight and in Europe.
Howe's men gave a good account of themselves in the Champions League 'Group of Death' but ultimately crashed out of competition at the hands of the more experienced Borussia Dortmund, PSG and AC Milan. As for the Premier League, Newcastle have struggled to gain any form of rhythm.

The loss of Sandro Tonali to an early gambling ban threw plans up in the air as a bare-bones squad struggled to keep up with the top four. United currently sit tenth in the Premier League with a return to the Champions League off the cards and perhaps even another run in Europe looking unlikely for next season too.
Heading into the 2024/25 campaign, Newcastle will be wanting to strengthen while keeping a close eye on the dreaded Financial Fair Play (FFP). However, with European football unlikely to return to St James' Park their pulling power in the forthcoming summer transfer window may be weakened especially with Aston Villa likely to be in the Champions League and wanting a similar calibre of player.
That being said, Chronicle Live has taken a look at 10 players who have been linked with a move to the North East in the summer.
Benjamin Sesko - RB Leipzig
Sesko was heavily linked with Newcastle in January but didn't leave the Bundesliga club. In February, the striker stressed he wanted to remain at Leipzig but is not a guaranteed starter yet.
