Newcastle United play host to West Ham United in the Premier League tomorrow, and Chris Sutton has made his prediction for the game.

Chis Sutton made his prediction for the BBC, with both Newcastle and West Ham in desperate need of what would be three big Premier League points.

Paul Merson has already tipped the Magpies to beat the Hammers 2-0 at St James’ Park tomorrow afternoon.

David Moyes is under real pressure to get a result against Newcastle, after his side racked up consecutive Premier League draws against Burnley and Aston Villa respectively.

The race for the top seven spots in the table is really heating up now, and neither the Hammers or the Toon can afford to lose this game tomorrow.

So what way does Sutton see the clash going?

Chris Sutton makes Newcastle vs West Ham prediction

The Hammers have proven this season that we’re more than a match for anyone in the league when we’re on our best form.

We drew 2-2 with Newcastle in the return fixture at the London Stadium earlier this season, and have already beaten Chelsea and Manchester United at home and Tottenham and Arsenal away in the league.

Chris Sutton made his prediction for tomorrow’s game when writing his regular column for BBC Sport:

“Newcastle’s hopes of a trophy ended when they were knocked out the FA Cup before the international break so it feels like a big end to the season for Eddie Howe, starting now. The same applies to West Ham boss David Moyes, because there has been plenty of speculation about his future too, as well as criticism from fans. But the Hammers are still in Europe, with a Europa League quarter-final against Bayer Leverkusen to look forward to, while Newcastle’s campaign has unravelled a bit in the past few weeks. League position is all Newcastle have to play for now and I don’t think Howe can afford to let this campaign peter out. They are four points behind seventh-place West Ham with a game in hand, so a win here would be massive for them. And, while Howe’s side have not been as strong defensively this season, I still always feel they have a goal in them. That’s why I reckon they will edge this.”

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1

I actually think that just like Merson, Sullivan has got this one wrong. I firmly believe that Newcastle are there for the taking.

As long as Moyes sets up his team with the ambition and mindset needed to go and win the game, there’s no reason why we can’t turn over the the Toon.

Chris Sutton has made a 2-1 home win prediction for the Newcastle vs West Ham clash, but I think the result will actually be the other way around. COYI X
