Newcastle United hot prospect Trevan Sanusi has been ruled out for the rest of the season - ending his chances of a senior bow in the last couple of games of the campaign.
The 16-year-old signing from Birmingham City has impressed Eddie Howe in reserve and youth games this season and been called up to train with the first-team. But the tricky left winger has joined a host of senior stars in the treatment room and won't be back until next term.
The England Under-17 international, speaking in the club's programme, said: "I have recently torn my meniscus in my knee and it's frustrating that I've had to end my season early.

"I thought I was in good form beforehand especially playing for the Under-21s and making a few starts.
"I am going to do my best to recover as quickly as possible by using every support I've got and doing it properly. When I am back I'll compete with myself to be better for next season."
Newcastle are hoping that the future of the second string is in good hands with Travis Hernes, Sanusi and Leo Shahar all spearheading the next generation. Newcastle Under-18 coach Graeme Carrick said: "They are all still settling in as they are really young. They have lots to come and we are happy with how they are settling in. They have shown good glimpses of skill and individual abilities."
