Newcastle United fans are confident that Alexander Isak can now win the Premier League Golden Boot after his “outrageous” performance against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon (27 April).
The Magpies came back from behind to secure a 5-1 thrashing of the Blades at St James’ Park to relegate Chris Wilder’s side and provide a huge boost in their hopes for European qualification.
Isak, 24, along with Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and an own goal from Ben Osborn secured the huge home win.
However, the Sweden international provided a crucial brace to bring his league tally up to 19 for the season.

He got Eddie Howe’s side level in the 26th minute with a cooly-taken strike before blasting home a penalty in the 61st minute to put the Northerners 3-1 up.
His double now puts him joint second in the race for the Golden Boot with Aston Villa ace Ollie Watkins and just one goal below Man City superstar Erling Haaland and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who both have bagged 20.
In the wake of Isak’s exceptional display against Sheffield United, fans have taken to social media to claim that their number nine will be the first Newcastle player to clinch the honour since Alan Shearer in the 1996-97 campaign.
