The Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali will not face an extended ban despite further breaches of FA gambling rules, including betting on his own team.

Tonali, who is serving a ten-month global suspension from football after betting on matches in Italy, has been given a further suspended two-month ban and fined £20,000 by an independent regulatory commission after admitting 50 further offences between August 12, 2023, and October 12, 2023, after he joined Newcastle from AC Milan.

The 23-year-old admitted to betting on four Newcastle games, for amounts less than £10,000. In each instance, the Italy midfielder bet on his side to win.
