Newcastle United tipped to explode amid Eddie Howe sack claim – pundit

Newcastle United can explode under manager Eddie Howe next season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton believes the boss has done an outstanding job with the Magpies.

He added that the 46-year-old is absolutely the right man to be in the St James’ Park dugout moving forward.

Newcastle currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League table, one point behind Manchester United in sixth.

Newcastle United going in right direction under Howe – Hutton

Hutton believes that the Magpies can get even better under Howe if they bring in new players this summer.

And they could increase their spending “significantly” under new Premier League financial rules, finance expert Kieran Maguire told Football Insider on Sunday (28 April).

“There will always be speculation about what direction a club are going, what players are going to come in, who is going to leave and what manager is there,” he told Football Insider.

“But I think he’s done an outstanding job. They probably got to the Champions League a bit sooner than what was expected, so now the expectation is high.

“But I think he is the guy to keep moving them forward 100%. He looks like he’s got a good relationship with the players, they understand how he wants to play.

“It’s been a difficult season with injuries for them. I know we keep saying that about a lot of teams, but it genuinely has, they have really struggled, but he has still managed to cope and they are still in a decent position.

“So moving forward, getting the whole team fit and back for the new season when this one ends, and hopefully with a couple of new faces in the building, I think they can kick on.”
