And the North London club’s sporting director Edu is increasingly optimistic about landing the Newcastle United midfield mainstay. He may cost up to £120 million in the summer transfer window, although a deal worth £80 million might be possible.

Bruno Guimaraes has been one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Newcastle United from Lyon in a deal worth £40 million in January 2022. Such was the impact by the Brazilian midfield maestro that he nearly dragged the Tyneside outfit from the relegation battle to the top half of the table in the second half of the 2021/22 season.
The 26-year-old has continued to go from strength to strength in the last two years and has been a shining light in a frustrating 2023/24 campaign for Newcastle United. Guimaraes has chipped in with five goals and eight assists in 46 appearances across all competitions thus far this term.
